Ibukun Elebute

Ibukun Elebute is a Nigerian-Canadian biomedical engineer, poet, and songwriter who is merging her love for STEM and the arts to drive global innovation and currently works as the COO and Co-Founder of CELLECT Laboratories. She dreamed of becoming a rap-artist scientist from the tender age of 8, a dream she never lost sight of.

Armed with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering, Ibukun has lent her expertise to critical areas of healthcare technology like medical imaging, machine learning, and biomechanics. Her relentless commitment to advancing healthcare technology has led her to be a part of initiatives that are improving patient outcomes while also contributing her bit through scientific publications.

Having participated in laudable STEM initiatives such as Kamskenow Science Outreach, National Biomechanics Day, and the Oxford Learning Centre, Ibukun has successfully fostered an environment of learning and discovery for young minds. Her work is a testament to her commitment to nurturing the next generation of problem solvers and changemakers.

In her role as the founder of the STEMite Zone, Ibukun combines her passion for science and the arts, creating a unique platform for young Nigerians to explore their scientific curiosity and express their creative prowess. She sees the STEMite Zone Fair as a beacon of opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds, motivating them to develop novel solutions to everyday problems.

Tiffany Egeonu

Tiffany Egeonu, a significant force behind The STEMite Zone Inc., stands at the intersection of engineering, healthcare, and education. A Canadian-Nigerian, who currently works as an Integration/Implementation lead at Ocean MD, champions diversity and innovation in STEM and the arts, with a 5-year stint in Biomedical Engineering and Digital Healthcare Technology enriching her mission.

An alumnus of Carleton University and the University of Saskatchewan, Tiffany’s qualifications in Biomedical, Mechanical, and Medical Engineering echo her zeal for melding engineering and healthcare. Her professional journey, marked by impactful roles and projects, underscores her commitment to enhancing patients and healthcare professionals’ lives.

Motivated by her Nigerian roots, Tiffany’s mission extends to boosting STEM education in her homeland. Having experienced the lack of diversity in STEM firsthand, she understands the need for inclusive spaces in these fields. She recognises the untapped potential in Nigeria’s youth and the transformative power of blending art with STEM education.

As a board member of The STEMite Zone, Tiffany ceaselessly creates opportunities for Nigerian students to delve into STEM and arts, resonating with the organisation’s mission to cultivate a new generation of innovators and leaders driving global change.

Omotara Agoye

Omotara Ogochukwu Agoye, who currently works as an Environmental Analyst at Envirosoft Corporation, is a passionate advocate for diversifying the STEM community and brings a wealth of global experiences to her role as a board member of The STEMite Zone Inc. Born in Asaba, Nigeria, and enriched by her journeys across three continents, Omotara fuses her world view with her chemical engineering acumen to inspire future generations.

Her educational journey, which began in Nigeria, gained momentum in the United Kingdom and culminated in her earning a degree with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. Alongside her professional engineering career, Omotara developed a keen understanding of the power of collaboration and the transformative impact of empowering the younger generation in STEM.

In her role at the STEMite Zone, Omotara is resolute in her commitment to fostering an environment where innovative ideas are shared and explored. By providing this nurturing space, she aims to illuminate the beauty and importance of STEM and drive towards a more inclusive community.
